1. Who am I
actually buying the item from?
The item is being sold by the listing entity. HorseJockey.com
acts only as a clearing house for the given institution, or
individual. All financial transactions should be completed
through the listing seller.
2. How can
I bid?
Perform a search by clicking the Buy an Item link to your
left. Find an item on which you wish to bid. If you are not
logged in, you will be required to login before you bid.
3. Is the seller
required to take the highest bid?
No, the seller can refuse a bid if it doesn't meet the reserve
price, or if the seller feels one of the other bids is more
suitable for his item.
4. What about
my personal information. Who knows I am bidding?
Bidders cannot access other bidders' information. A seller
can only see basic information about a bidder, including username,
name, city and state, email address and phone number. A bidder can only view the username
and email address of the seller. Once a bid is awarded, both
the buyer and seller will receive information about each other.
5. What fees
does HorseJockey.com require?
A seller pays a listing fee, based on the item reserve. There's
no cost to register or bid.
6. Am I obligated
if I bid?
In some states you are legally obligated to buy if the seller
accepts your bid and has not misrepresented the sale item.
Unless otherwise stated a successful bidder buys an item at
the seller's location and is responsible for any transportation
cost to the bidder's location. Seven (7) days is considered
the normal time allowed for the bidder to complete the transaction.
7. Can I change
my pasword?
Yes. You may login to the site and change any of your user
information, with the exception of your username.
8. Can I make
an offer to the seller?
Sellers should always request that any offer be made as a
bid on HorseJockey.com. There is no charge to the bidder,
and this ensures the effectiveness of the auction process.
9. Why do my
pictures load slow?
If you load pictures that are bigger than the ones on the
site the system will reduce them to fit, but they will load
slowly. Try to reduce your photos to the approximate size
that they will appear on the site. Currently, the main photo
will be 250 pixels wide, while the secondary photo will appear
at 125 pixels wide.
